We clean the beaches π
This summer we did it ourselves: on La Maddalena we cleared plastic off the beaches. One beach at a time, one bag at a time.
Why it matters: research published in Science (Jambeck et al., 2015) estimates that around 8 million tonnes of plastic enter the world's oceans from land every year.
We think anyone who swims should look after the water they swim in. So this was not a one-off β the next clean-up is already being planned.
